The Broadmoor is a five-star, AAA Five-Diamond resort in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The resort, which opened on June 29, 1918, is situated on 5,000 acres (20 km2) in the Cheyenne Cañon and features two championship golf courses, seven restaurants, three pools, a spa, and a fitness center.
In addition to the main resort, The Broadmoor also operates The Ranch at Emerald Valley, a luxury guest ranch located in the nearby Rocky Mountains.
The Broadmoor was founded by Spencer Penrose, who also developed the nearby Pikes Peak Highway and the Broadmoor Addition to Colorado Springs. Penrose’s architect of choice was Jacques Benedict, who designed the original Broadmoor Hotel as well as the Cheyenne Mountain Lodge and the Antlers Hotel, both in Colorado Springs.

The Broadmoor’s first guests were General John J. Pershing and his staff, who were in town for a military conference. The resort has been owned by the Anschutz Corporation since 2011.
The Broadmoor has been host to numerous events over the years, including the PGA Championship, the U.S. Women’s Open, and the U.S. Senior Open. The resort will also host the 2020 U.S. Olympic Team Trials for Boxing.
